Get Koopers CRS at subsidized prices with MyCRS subsidy!

Inflation is causing more and more parents to worry about the high cost of living. The biggest responsibility of the parents is to ensure that the children grow up in a safe and comfortable environment. When the MYCRS Subsidy Program was announced by the Prime Minister in the 2022 Budget, it was good news for many parents, especially the B40 group. The RM30 million budget provides an opportunity for B40 parents to buy child safety seats (CRS) for their children at a subsidized price. The subsidy car seat will ease the burden for parents in the B40 group.

In 2020, the use of child car seat is mandatory under Malaysian law which states that every child must use a CRS child safety seat until:

⦁ Weight 36kg

⦁ Height 135cm

⦁ Age 12 years

At the same time, MIROS has published a Malaysia CRS Safety Seat Guideline to educate parents on the selection and use of child safety seats. The guidelines also emphasize that parents should purchase certified CRS under UNR regulations only, i.e. ECE R44/04 or ECE R129 as prescribed by the Malaysian government.

Since then, there has been a drastic change in awareness among parents about the proper use of child car seats. CRS sold in the Malaysian market must have JPJ CTA approval as well as comply with the European safety standards ECE R44/04 or R129. Importers or distributors of child safety seats will also need to obtain a QR code for each model from MIROS which will make it easier for buyers to identify the validity of a CRS by simply scanning the QR code to obtain model specification information, model photos, ECE approval, CTA approval and including guidelines for installation.

All Koopers CRS have complied with the European safety standards ECE R44/04 and have been approved by the JPJ. It is also equipped with a MIROS QR code which is affixed to the back of every Koopers CRS.

There are many types of car seats on the market, and choosing one that’s right for your family can be difficult. That’s where the ISOFIX system comes in. The ISOFIX system is an internationally standardized car seat fitting system. It automatically locks your car seat – or car seat base – onto two metal clips (ISOFIX fixing points) between the vehicle seat of your car.  That means that you’ll have an easier time fitting your child’s car seat into your car, making it a lot easier to install them safely for your journey. ISOFIX comes in two types – top-tether attachment or the load leg support.  It is the third point of anchorage that secures the upper part of the child’s car seat to the vehicle and stops it from tipping forward in a crash.

There are several different ISOFIX seats on the market to choose from, and many of the most popular models can be attached using the ISOFIX system in a variety of different vehicles. By choosing a seat that is compatible with your vehicle’s ISOFIX system, you’ll be taking a step towards achieving safe travel for your child.
